My name is Sarah Stanford and I am thrilled to be teaching 5th Grade here at Cherry Hills Village Elementary. Prior to teaching at CHVE, I taught 3rd grade at Arrowwood Elementary in Douglas County.
I attended the University of Colorado Boulder for my undergraduate career finishing with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication in 2011. I then went on to to complete my Elementary Education Teacher Licensure Program (K-6) as a graduate student at the University of Colorado, Denver in 2012. In 2013 I completed my Master's Degree in Special Education at the University of Colorado, Denver.
As a teacher, I believe learning is a dynamic process in which the students and the teacher work together to create understanding. I believe that all students are unique and therefore differentiation is key to create the best learning experience for each child. In addition to differentiating in the classroom, I believe in using active and engaging activities along with the curriculum to facilitate meaningful learning experiences. Overall, I believe in kids becoming lifelong learners through creating, questioning, working with others, and enjoying the school experience.
Outside of school, my husband Joby and I love to travel and play outside. I like to camp, hike, bike, ski, snowboard, rock climb, run and swim. If an activity involves being outside, you can count me in! Some of my daily hobbies and interests include nutrition, Crossfit, and yoga. One of my core values is balance, so I try to make sure I work hard and play hard :). Last year we adopted the sweetest Coon Hound puppy and named him Boone, the kids will hear me talk about him all of the time! I am a strong believer in effective and open communication. My ultimate goal is to work with you and your child to create the best learning experience possible for everyone. Please do not hesitate to email me or set up a meeting to talk if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback.
I am dedicated to facilitating a positive, engaging and meaningful learning and growing experience for each child.
